Welcome All Travelers!
Welcome travelers to Teyvat City! A large and diverse metropolis From humans to foxian to yokai, it welcomes all walks of life! Here you can find the latest in cybernetics and technology graciously provided to the people by the Celestia mega corp and its associates. With several main districts. Each one has diligent law enforcement to keep every citizen safe. Fortune favors the bold and daring within this city, and who knows, maybe you can be granted one of the cities prized "visions."
Teyvat City
The world we found ourselves in has existed for thousands of years. Early documentation and artifacts point to a world that was once run by the fantastical and mythical. Dragons, adepti, seelie all used to live among the everyday people. As well as the use of magic being widespread and commonly practiced. However, as the centuries moved past and those who inhabited the world made further advancements in technology, the mystical has slowly begun to be pushed out and replaced with what people saw as the future. Today, little of that old world exists with the remnants existing in the form of a wide variety of races that can be found within the city's walls. While some have embraced cybernetics, others like the vidyadhara reject it all together and tend to live secluded lives.Despite this, the use of magic is still accessible thanks to the usage of "Visions." A small trinket mostly given out by the Celestia mega corp to those they see as capable of fully utilizing its potential. However, with it being such a sought after commodity, counterfeits have started to pop up known as "Delusions." Rumors say the Notorious Fatui are behind their distribution. The city is most known for large diverse districts with its own cultures and governing bodies. They are more like mini-cities in themselves attached by one overruling Mega corp. However, more threats lurk within the streets of the city. Instances of rouge automatons, machines, and even beast-like robots have been on the rise. With chatter of some of them even having human-like intelligence. No one knows where they came from, some say its the influence of the destructive setlerons that caused them to go haywire. Other's say they are the result of shady experimentation from a deeper, more sinister organization. Not to mention those who succumb to the cyber psychosis brought upon their overuse of cybernetics.
CELESTIA AND THE ABYSSThe city of Teyvat is overseen by a large mega corporation and its associates. They have their eyes tracking down movement within the city and surveilling each and every citizen. Even implanting moles to influence the governing bodies of each district. This city favors the rich and powerful, leaving those with more humble beginnings to fend for themselves in their chaotic streets. Although not all districts favor the power, one rule of thumb is don't trust anybody.Celestia hates it when their power is challenged. Especially when other surrounding settlements like Khaenri'ah, actively rejected and refused Celestia's influence. At first, all they wanted to do was recreate the diverse and wonderous life of the past by recreating them as machines. So when the settlement of Khaenri'ah and its scientists started delving into the android technically and the idea of leaving one's biological body in favor of a completely mechanical one, Celestia knew they had to put an end to it. After all, no organization not under their control could obtain such advanced technology. The hostilities reached a fever pitch when and lead the great event known as the Cataclysm. The renowned researcher, "Gold's” creations escaped into the city, causing havoc wherever they went. Celestia's retaliation was swift, their military ordered to take the lives of any they had come across and destroy the technology. As some kind of punishment, some were even subjected to the use of their own programs having their consciousnesses transferred to inhumane mechanical bodies where very few minds would remain intact. However, some managed to escape with the remains of their technology in hand. Nothing remains of the once developing settlement. That was about a century ago, now all that remains of the horrific event is an irreparable part of the city. The history of the place long since covered up and repressed by the government. While some still remember the disaster, their dare not speak of it or else face repercussions. The place is a hotbed of black market and underground dealings. Most illegal doctors who work on cybernetics, aka Ripperdocs work in this in the ruins of the city. What remains of the people of Khaenri'ah now exists as The Abyss. Most of their legion is made up of both sentient and pre-programmed android as well as other automatons. Some being the people Celestia forced out of their organic bodies. Recently their members have been popping up all around the city, causing Chaos in their wake.
CYBERNETICS AND CYBERPSYCHOSIS — Cybernetics is an everyday yet expensive commodity. Everyone has access to ocular implants that allows easy access to the web and communication centers directly through their vision and thoughts. While some might opt to get light enhancements to their arms and legs to implant hidden weapons and increase mobility. Others may choose to heavily deck themselves out in cybernetic "upgrades" which even include replacing organs to make them run more efficiently and even potentially extend one's life. However, the organic body isn't made to take so much chrome. Thus, the more cybernetics one has the more likely they are to succumb to a condition known as "Cyberpsychosis'' where one is subjected to horrid hallucinations, loss of self and increased aggression. The effects can be controlled and maintained through the use of immune suppressors, but most of the time they only delay the inevitablePATHS — Paths are chips that can be uploaded into the user's memory. Each path enhances a certain trait or physical ability of their user. They are rather widespread with their creators being dubbed, "Aeons." Not everyone has or needs a path. Paths and what they are do are listed in the serverSTELLARONS — Different Devices, chips and other trinkets that are destructive in nature. When activated, anything in its radius is immediately affected. Its effects can range from a total power block out, the shut down of technologic, communication jamming, bolster power, and even the control of non-organic beings and creations. They can be programmed and combined together to create an ultimate device that could drastically alter the city. No one knows who created them or why and are sought after by certain groups.ARCHONS, ADEPTI, AND VISIONS — Archon and Adepti are gods and deities from an older time. To many they are just legends and no longer have faith in them. Thus, they have significantly less power than they used to. Although their power matches any other being in the city. They have one advantage, they can use magic without the use of a vision. Every being can access magic in some way or another due to now lost training methods. Only the archons know and have access to them which the guard closely..Although elements such as Pyro, Cyro, Dendro, Hydro, Electro, and Geo are gifted through visions. There are two "Elements" that aren't, quantum and imaginary. Instead, they are accessible through specially created cybernetic implants gifted to certain people. No one knows the Corp that created them, only that they aren't tied to Celestia.ANDROIDS — Androids are the only beings not capable of accessing magic by any means other than a vision. Most androids and android technology originates from Khaenri'ah or the Abyss. However, certain organizations like the Herta corp or very specific individuals have been able to repurpose and add their own spin to this technology. Yet, only Khaenri'ah is capable of creating androids mostly indistinguishable from organic beings. Some of these may have been found and reprogrammed or even decided to abandon their place or origins completely. However they are susceptible to technology that jams and interferes with other robotic programming.
